The Friends of Meager Fortune
We have a new friend, in fact, who's handing out this lovely guru status. The blog is called A Season to Read (isn't that a great name for a book blog??), and Wanda says she has a soft spot for Canadian Literature. Feel free to educate me, Wanda!
She is sharing the book The Friends of Meager Fortune, written by David Adams Richards. This is an international contest (yay!) -- well, the only restriction is that you have to have an address that the book can be sent to. "Under the Highland Park bridge" probably doesn't qualify, ya know? (Not that anyone should have an address there. I think there's a road under it.)
You must be 18 to win. I like that rule. And yes, there are extra entries available.
Entries will be accepted until April 21, with the winner announced on April 22 -- Earth Day.
Wanda, I like your style.
Check it all out via this link.

Girls in Trucks
Yep, it's more copies of Girls in Trucks for you. Five copies, in fact, offered by our good pal Lisa at Books Ahoy! How can you resist another chance at this new book written by Katie Crouch? (It has a great cover, which does not evoke MY mental image that the title inspires)
This is, once again, a US and Canada only contest, with no PO Box addresses, please. And yes, I looked at my box today and sighed ... until I saw the flat envelope within it. I feel your pain, fellow PO Box people.
You have until April 7, but don't delay. You aren't, after all, Scarlett O' Hara!

The Turnaround
This time, it's over at RhapsodyInBook'sWeblog. That's a long word, but it is a neat looking site. Very clean.
Five copies are up for grabs -- again to US and Canada only, and no PO Box addresses, please. There's some info for you in case you're wondering just what on Earth this book is about (and why the author's name is STILL bigger than the book title!).
Use this link before April 2.

Everyone is Beautiful
She's got a guest post by author Katherine Center, and a giveaway to go with it. Just in case you're not tempted enough by a guest blog post. Which you should be. There's also a link to Dar's review of Ms. Center's book, Everyone is Beautiful. And a synopsis. And I'm not going to say anything else about this give, about how it's open until April 6 and the book is Dar's only gently-read ARC, and that it's an international contest.
Nope. I'm not going to say any of that. Not me.

I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti
This time, it's the fabulously-titled I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti, which just conjures up SO MUCH. For me, at least. Clearly, it did for author Giulia Melucci (although sometimes, the title an author picks isn't what winds up on the cover. Still, we'll give it to her.)
You have until April 10 if you are in the US and/or Canada (although how you can be in both at the same time escapes me. Yeah, you can straddle the border, but immigration's not too keen on you doing that anymore.) -- and no PO Box addresses, sad to say. Yes, friends, PO Box discrimination continues! (I do wonder about the people who have PO Boxes as their permanent addresses. But that's off-topic here.)

How I Got to be Whoever It Is I Am
In this case, it's five copies of Charles Grodin's How I Got to be Whoever It Is I Am. This guy is my new hero; he got thrown out of Hebrew school. Know how many times I'd tried to accomplish exactly that???
That's only one small part of the man. In fact, the way Drey tells it, there's SO much more to this guy, it's amazing.
Check it out and if you're in the US and/or Canada, but don't have a PO Box, throw your name in the hat for a copy of this. It looks awesome.

Too Hot to Handle
You see, she'd like to give away her gently-read ARC copy of Robin Kaye's Too Hot to Handle. It's not quite that easy, though. Ms. Kaye is stopping by The Burton Review for an interview, and Marie wants to know what WE want to hear from Ms. Kaye. The person with the best question gets the book.
I know it's hard to ask good questions about a book you haven't read yet. So does Marie; that's why she's posted a link to the author's website. Maybe that'll provide inspiration.
Yeah, it's a little bit of work, but won't it be worth it when a published author answers YOUR question? (What? You're so used to interviews now that you're jaded? Go back to that excitement you used to have. Tap into that.)
Use this link by April 5.
