Cemetery Dance

Have you experienced the goodness that is authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child? Do you want to listen to creepy tales that are just delicious enough to run a shiver up your back but still let you have peaceful slumber?

I've got the audio books for you.

Or, well. Really. Carol over at Carol's Notebook does. Me, I'm just telling you about them.

She's got two copies of Cemetery Dance (which I still need to read) to share with her readers. Again, this is an audio!

You have until June 3 to enter, and only if you live in the US or Canada and don't rely on a PO Box for your mail. (Be like me. Abuse your friends! They don't mind if you give them first reading rights, you know. Usually.)

Check out all the rules and stuff via this link.

The Scarecrow (Audio)

Over at Carol's Notebook, there are copies of The Scarecrow, written by Michael Connelly -- in audio! All you audio book (or talking book, as a friend of mine calls them) fiends ought to take note!

Carol's got two copies for two friends -- uhh, that's one copy per friend. Just so we're all clear on that. One book. Two winners. Each gets their own.

The book will come directly from the publisher, so US and Canada only, please. And, of course, us PO Box holders are being discriminated against once again...

You have until June 2 to enter. Check out the rules!

The Girl Who Stopped Swimming

At Carol's Notebook, it's The Girl Who Stopped Swimming by Joshilyn Jackson, a ghost story, family psychodrama, and murder mystery all rolled up in one.

The contest is open to the US and Canada only, no PO boxes.

To enter, just leave a comment. There are a couple of ways to get extra entries. For one, tell Carol your thoughts on ghosts or if you’ve ever had a “ghostly” encounter. Sharing, whether on your blog or twitter or whatever, will get you an extra entry or two, just make sure to let her know.

The contest will stay open through May 28.

One Deadly Sin

Didn't I just get done writing about this book? Seems like it's heating up.

The book, once again, is One Deadly Sin, and it's written by Annie Solomon. This time, it's Carol at Carol's Notebook with five copies (US and Canada only, no PO Boxes, please!). She's got a link to her review, but she comes right out and tells you how good it is.

Really. This could be this summer's blockbuster. Help make it happen.

Use this link by May 15.

I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti

This memoir and its great title are really making the rounds! (Has anyone seen a guest post or interview with author Giulia Melucci? I'd love to see some)

I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti can be yours if you hustle over to Carol's Notebook and throw your name in the hat for one of five copies. As usual, this is a US/Canada only contest, with no PO Box addresses allowed to play along. Owners of boxes must find a way around that restriction. Sorry.

You have until April 8. Get busy.

Sway

Think of all the beautiful things you can sway to: the natural rhythm all us moms get when we hold a newborn. Music. Our loved one's arms.

And a good book. Like Sway, written by Zachary Lazar.

Carol and her Notebook have five copies, compliments of the publisher to share with our friends in the US and Canada, but no PO Boxes, please. (That means no one with a PO Box address, not that Carol won't share these books with a postal box. Last I checked -- about an hour ago -- boxes can't read. At least, mine can't. Can yours?)

I'd love to read this, myself, with its rock and roll theme. Alas, I've got that PO Box problem.

Why don't you enter and tell me how it is? Maybe I'll actually *gasp* BUY it!

You have until March 6 to get your fun on and enter you instead of me. Use this link to do that.

The Art of Compassion

Carol at Carol's Notebook has a cool-sounding book. A right-up-Susan's-alley book.

Check this out. It's called The Art of Compassion, and it's the record of what happened when musician Martin Smith gathered up some friends to write and record an album of songs, the profits of which would help relieve global poverty.

Carol has five copies for US and Canadian friends (provided you don't have PO Boxes), thanks to the publisher. The winner will be chosen around noon, ET, on February 11.

Phantom Limb

Over at Carol's Notebook, Carol has fallen in love with a new book. It's called Phantom Limb, and it was written by Theresa Kishkan.

It was a hard decision for Carol to make, as it always is when you read a great book, but she finally decided she'd rather share this great book of essays with someone who might love it as much as she did. (Yay, Carol!)

Go on over to her blog. Check out her thoughtful review. If you're in the US, tell Carol why you want to read this -- really TALK to her, don't just spurt platitudes. Anyone can do that, and gosh darn it, your name's not Anyone, now is it? (Yes, that's my character Trevor talking again.)

You have until January 22. And if you missed it, this is a US-only contest. Sorry, gang. Mailing across the borders is stupidly expensive.
