The Convenient Marriage

Since it's Friday, it's the last Georgette Heyer giveaway at Maymay's Memos. She's sad to see it end. So am I.

Today's book is The Convenient Marriage. Isn't that a familiar theme in romance novels? Well, check out how Ms. Heyer handles it. You'll be impressed. And yes, I CAN say this without having read the novel! (Who else can make horrid eyebrows a valid reason for not being a catch?)

You've got to move fast, as Shawn will be drawing for the winners of ALL the books tomorrow. Saturday.

Go on! Use this link! Get moving!

Georgette Heyer Week

It's Georgette Heyer Week over at MayMay's Memos!!

If you're not a big romance fan, you may not know how deeply Ms. Heyer's works have influenced thousands of romance writers (the published and the not-published, I'm sure).

The savvy folk at Sourcebooks understand the sort of power Ms. Heyer had. They are reprinting many of her books -- how many, I don't know and I'd dig it up but I'd really like to work on my own books today, so if you know, leave it in the comments and I'll edit this post.

Maymay's going to give four of Ms. Heyer's books away at the end of the week.

Start here, at this post. You'll have to remember to go back and check out the rest of the week's offerings, but I promise, this is one bookmark you'll be glad you make!

Dead Until Dark

Over at Maymay's Memos, Dead Until Dark is being given away. For those of you who haven't read Charlaine Harris, you're definitely missing out. That's why they decided to give away one brand spanking new copy of Dead Until Dark. This book is the first in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine. It's also the basis for the HBO series Trueblood, which I've seen -- pretty cool if you like vampires and such. In order to win, all you have to do is leave a message with a way to contact you. Winner will be announced on May 1st.

Did I say there was a contest happening? Well, there is. All you have to do is tell MayMay who your favorite author is. I hope you're not like me, who can't pick (since it's not fair to say ME. Well, you guys can drop my name. I'll love you for it.).
