Kosher by Design Lightens up (and) Crafting Jewish
The first book is Kosher By Design Lightens up, written by Susie Fishbein. If you've ever wondered what it means to cook kosher, keep kosher, or even more basically what IS kosher, this is the cookbook series for you! I have two in the series and the Tour Manager and I whip out the recipes in these books for any occasion. With Kosher By Design Lightens Up, you're getting some lower-fat options. And who couldn't do with a little bit less fat (Susan asks with an organic toaster pastry sticking out of her mouth!) in their diet???
Crafting Jewish sounds like the book for anyone who likes to make things. Lisa describes this book as a great craft book for anyone, even though all the crafts seem to revolve around the Jewish holidays. Including some this Jew never thought would lend well to crafts. But then, I've met two-year-olds who are better with visual arts than I am.
Explore a new culture, learn something. Maybe tear some walls down between our religions. And in the meantime, cook up a storm and craft up a new artistic vision.
You can't go wrong.
This is a US-only contest, due to shipping costs.

The Gate House
Because all bloggers like conversation in their comment trail, one way to gain an entry for this book is to tell Sandra what your favorite read of 2008 was. Or what your favorite DeMille novel to date is.
There are other ways to enter, too. Be sure to check them all out.
And because this is a large, heavy book, Sandra may use the Slow Boat to China method of mailing -- meaning she's going to use what's cheapest, so be aware that if you win, delivery may not be next-day. Or next-week. But hopefully it'll be next-month. (Although, back before the USPS eliminated the true Slow Boat method, it would routinely take my books six months to reach their destinations. What a way to make someone's day -- with a book they'd completely forgotten was coming to them!)
(Uhh, that last sentence was NOT sarcastic.)
Use this link to get to Sandra and The Gate House. You have until January 18.

Letters Between Us
First off, she's got a copy of Letters Between us, written by Linda Rader Overman. Since this is an epistolary novel (told through letters), Sandra would like you to think of others you've read in this same format. I hope you can think of some faster than I can!
But if not, there are other ways to enter for Sandra's own gently-read copy.
You have until January 25.

Interview with Dayana Knight
The contest is open worldwide, but your entry will shrivel up and die if all you can think of to say is, "Great interview!" or something equally as bland. C'mon, folks! Us authors work hard to create a world that lives and breathes. We dig deep -- and we like it when you do, too. (It inspires us to go deeper. Really. Truly.)
You have until Friday the 16th, with the winner picked on the 17th. Did I mention the words WORLD WIDE CONTEST???

Little did she know I'd already posted the first one!
The book is James Patterson's latest, Sundays at Tiffany's, and from my bulging inbox, this is getting a lot of attention (although I'm not sure WHY. Hello? James Patterson? He hardly needs a publicity push to sell his 400,000 copies. No, that figure is probably not an exaggeration, unless it's low). Maybe it's to introduce us to cowriter Gabrielle Charbonnet?
