Dawn over at She is Too Fond of Books has a problem. She read and reviewed Ellen Meister's The Smart One, fully intending to give it away when she was done.

Okay, that's what most of us do. So what's the problem, you ask?

She loves the book too much to part with it.

Hey, it's happened to all of us. Personally, I've been known to ask a publicist for an extra copy because I knew in advance that I'd love a book too much to part with it. Dawn didn't have that foresight with this book.

So, instead, she'd put together a goodie package for you to win! Check it out, in her own words:

Author Meg Waite Clayton dropped me a line -- to say thanks for spreading her name around. Wasn't that awesome?

BUT, Ms. Clayton's got some books of her own to share. Could they maybe have influenced her own fiction? Read it and find out.

This latest book is a modern-day classic (says Susan, who could be wrong but is ever hopeful). Lydia Cassatt Reading the Morning Paper, written by Harriet Scott Chessman.

Best of all? It's been autographed by Ms. Chessman.

Our friend Jezebelsk dropped us an e-mail to let us know about her latest giveaway: The Callahan Brothers Trilogy, written by JoAnn Ross.

The Callahan Brothers Trilogy is a collection of three novels, Blue Bayou, River Road and Magnolia Moon. Each focuses on the rough road to love traversed by the brothers. The book in total is close to 800 pages -- use THAT for a chunkster challenge!

Ruthie over at Books Books and More Books dropped me a note to say that she's been lurking and now has a contest of her own to spread the word about.

Shana at Literarily has been busy busy busy! Her latest giveaway is a Southern fiction novel by Ray Atkins titled The Front Porch Prophet. She has posted an interview with the author that has the details for the giveaway, but here are some different ways to win:

Melsy626 emerged from Love to Read long enough to drop us an e-mail about a new give she's just posted.

The book is called Green Monster. It's an ARC copy, and it's intended only for a US reader (sorry!)

Oh, yeah. It was written by Rick Shefchik. I haven't heard of him before, but that's okay. We're all learning about him together and who knows? Maybe he'll be the next household name. Then we can all say we knew of him when.

Shana at Literarily dropped us an e-mail today, too. (It's been a big e-mail day and for that we thank you!)

She's got a copy of Goodnight Nobody, written by best-selling author Jennifer Weiner. You know how it goes... the shelves are overflowing, how can you fix this before the husband bursts a blood vessel 'cause there's no room for his stuff? So Shana's decided she can part with it -- so long as she sends it to someone who really wants it.

Here's what she says about it:

This is a used hardcover copy. A small section including the first 23 pages is coming away from the spine. Other than that, it is in excellent condition.

Not to be undone by Pat, Robert at Fantasy Book Critic has a nice giveaway, too.

My good friend Nimrodiel, over at Confessions of a Literary Persuasion, has realized that her box of books to share is possibly bigger than mine. She'd like to fix that, starting with a copy of True Detective, written by James A. Huebner.

This trade paperback copy of the book has been autographed by the author himself. It's also registered at BookCrossing.com, but the winner's under no obligation to journal -- although it'd be nice. We BookCrossers like to know where our books go and what people think of them.

A new blogger popped into our inbox today. Everyone stop in and say hi to Dar at Peeking Between the Pages.

She's got an uncorrected ARC of One Fifth Avenue, by Candace Bushnell. Dar spotted a few grammatical errors, and the postman didn't treat it with kid gloves, but it's a book! And it's totally readable. Just a little war-torn.

Summer's coming to a close, at least for our little people. You know: the ones who we stuff inside a school building with glee, grateful they are no longer underfoot and complaining about being bored. (Can you tell I've got some of them, myself?)

Yep, gang. School is getting ready to start, at least here in the States. Some schools are already back in session. Others will go as late as after Labor Day.

That's why the timing of this massive giveaway is perfect.
