Book Giveaway Carnival
BookRoomReviews dropped us an e-mail and asked us to plug the Book Giveaway Carnival. Now, why would we want to do that? That sort of thing will put us at Win a Book out of business!
Of course, if you drop by any of the gives from bloggers you don't usually see here and you happen to remind them to drop in and keep us posted, too... well, that'd be awesome, now, wouldn't it?
Here's the link.

The Dangerous Joy of Dr. Sex
Yikes!
Book Review and Giveaway: "The Dangerous Joy of Dr. Sex"by Pagan Kennedy via Bookroomreviews's Weblog.
Nonfiction is the new black comedy in this hilarious collection of award-winning literary essays written by the infamous Pagan Kennedy. In the title piece, Alex Comfort, author of "The Joy of Sex", reinvents himself as a sex guru in California and hatches a plan to destroy monogamy forever. In the stories that follow, a retired chemist finds a way to turn a wasteland into paradise, an aspiring tyrant tries to become the emperor of America, and an artist rigs himself up to a “brain machine” made from parts he bought at Radio Shack. All of the essays—most of which have appeared in The New York Times Magazine and The Boston Globe Magazine—document the stories of visionaries bent on remaking the world, for better or for worse.
At Bookroomreviews, click on the book cover to read their review. If this sounds like a book you would like, they have an extra copy from the Santa Fe Writer's Project to share!
All you need do to enter is leave a comment and they will draw a winner on October 14th
US and Canada only, please.

Breaking Dawn
Didn't buy your own copy of this now-controversial book? Wondering what the fuss is all about?
Bookroomreviews has a copy of Breaking Dawn, the conclusion to the blockbuster series by Stephanie Meyer.
She's willing to share it with a US or Canadian friend, and would be especially pleased if you'd blog about this and/or post it where people who love young adult literature (you know, like young adults) can hear about the contest and throw their name in the hat.
You've got until September 13.

Sweet Life
Bookroomreviews is one busy book blogger and contest runner.
Author Mia King was so excited to hear that Bookroomreviews LOVED her book, Sweet Life, that she's going to make prize packs for THREE winners. That's right. Three.
In the prize packs will be copies of the books and a basket of chocolate. Wait. Not just an ordinary basket of chocolate, either. Check it out:
Valued at over $80, our “Life is Sweet” Hawaiian gift basket includes:
*
one small gold box of Chocolate Dipped Original Shortbread Cookies
*
one gold box of Kohala Brownie Assortment
*
one petite box of Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Rocky Road
*
one petite box of Combination (Dark and Milk) Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts
*
three Dark Chocolate Dipped Original Shortbread cookies
*
one Original Biscotti with Milk Chocolate waves
*
one Original Biscotti with Dark Chocolate Waves
*
one signed copy of GOOD THINGS
*
one signed copy of SWEET LIFE
*
an assortment of temporary hibiscus tattoos, tropical key chains, monogrammed GOOD THINGS and SWEET LIFE pens, inspiring quote cards (you know I love quotes!), bookmarks, and more!
All of this comes in a lovely keepsake woven basket for you to store your favorite Mia King books.
But........ there's a catch.
Fifty excited people need to enter for Ms. King to throw in a second basket. And after 50 more, she'll throw in that third. Of course, there are ways to gain extra entries. Fifty ought to be easy. So should 100. Besides, you have until September 2 to make this happen. No sweat!
Still not enough for you? Since Sweet Life won't be released until September 2, Ms. King is offering a $500 online goodie bag for anyone who purchases a copy of Sweet Life on the release date (reminder: that's Sept. 2). Mark your calendars.
One catch here, too: you've got to buy the book from Barnes and Nobel, either online or in person. Submit your receipt to Ms. King for your entry.
How's THAT for making a big noise about an upcoming release?
Now the sad news: this is a US-only contest. 'Cause chocolate... it doesn't always travel so well.

The Gargoyle
I know! This book is hot, man. And it sounds like everyone is really liking it, too.
Bookroomreviews has a copy of it to share. Her copy is an ARC, and she's restricting this to the US and Canada only.
But to soften the blow, she's posted the book trailer. If you're a trailer-watcher and you haven't seen it yet, or you have seen it but want to see it again, go on by.
Leave a comment by August 26 to enter.

Sweetsmoke
Want to interact with author David Fuller about his forthcoming novel, Sweetsmoke? He's dropped by Bookroomreviews to promote his book and while he'll be giving away a copy of the book, it's also possible that he'll drop in on the comment trail for a chat.
The interview is great, and the book sounds even better.
Check it out via this link.

The Summoning
Bookroomreviews has a good one for a Monday! It's The Summoning, written by Kelley Armstrong. Kelley Armstrong, you paranormal fans know, is the author of the Women of the Otherworld series.
Well, this is apparently a new series, and The Summoning is the first in it.
You can be one of the first to read it, come September first, when the winner is pulled. (Actually two will be awarded, and there are no geographical restrictions listed.)
As usual, there are ways to gain multiple entries. Check 'em -- and the book -- via this link.

BookRoomReviews and those 14 books from Hachette
Man, Hachette is giving away a veritable TON of these boxes of books, aren't they?
BookroomReviews has the latest one, only with a catch: the number of entries will dictate how many boxes will be given away -- and if there are 500 entries (or more), Hachette will allow one lucky person to win, instead, a copy of the new Stephanie Meyers book, Breaking Dawn.
Once again, this is a US/Canada only contest; it seems to be a requirement of Hachette Books. If you're not in the US or Canada, why not make a new friend with deep pockets who can ship your winnings to you?
Be sure to follow the directions; you can earn up to twelve entries for yourself!
